Good sturdy gate easy to assemble
The gate is very sturdy, easy to assemble. Just make sure don’t remove the zip tie until the end following the instructions. I took good measurement of my wall distance and ordered closest to the gate size so didn’t need to use up all the extension included. Using it for 3.5 months now, it definitely has held up a jumping 40 lbs lab so far. Like it so much bought another one for my daughter’s dog.

I had a lot of hope for this gate as I had bought a another gate 2 weeks ago on amazon and iit was a piece of junk that could barely stand on it’s own. I threw it out as I no longer had the original packaging. it was the white Amilrate Baby gate for $133.00 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C9QT7BHB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title. I bought this as I wanted smaller distances between the vertical bars as I was getting a 2nd smaller puppy. BTW I do a lot on installation of products from amazon and other companies and always get things installed correctly even when the manufacturer forgets a part, piece of hardware, or just forgets to drill holes in steel parts. This time I installed the gate and squared it up with equidistance gaps on all 4 major screws in about an hour.. It took longer because I had to install both extension (encrytion??) bars as I needed to span a longer distance. Everything went great, the gate was level and tight against the 2 walls and was were firm and felt solid unlike the one I had bought earlier. However when I did the last step – cutting the last gate tie wrap which you do as a last step of the install there was a 2″ gap and no matter what I did I could not get the gap to close enough to latch the gate. After 2 hours of playing with it I took it apart and packed it up. This time I saved the box and I am sending it back to amazon. I highly recommend looking for another gate.. I wasted 3 hours on this gate and was extremely disappointed. I hope I save you from that with this review.I would advise you do the same.

Extra Wide Baby Gate
The fact that the gate has two locks on top, which I may choose to activate or not depending on the circumstances, is something that I truly like. The fact that my inquisitive climber is unable to circumvent the double lock provides me with a sense of security. Due to the fact that the vertical slats are quite small and positioned closely together, measuring just under three inches, I do not have to worry about my children’s fingers being pinched. When it is opened, this gate has a very solid and safe feeling about it. Despite the fact that I have been wearing it for a few weeks now, my toddler has not yet had the opportunity to shake it free or squeeze through any openings. The function that automatically closes the door is also quite useful since it eliminates the possibility of my leaving it open by mistake after I have walked through it. When I open it, I just give it a little push, and it immediately closes behind me. Although it is possible that my dog could theoretically leap over the thirty-inch height, he has not yet figured out how to activate the locks and allow himself through. The walk-through door swings in both directions, which is a feature that I really love. Because of this, it is simple for me to carry my child through while simultaneously preventing the dog from entering.

Narrow openings, decent door width, a bit short in height
Gate is good. Definitely narrower opening between the bars than my other pet gates. I needed something that a kitten couldn’t squeeze through and this is it.I knocked a star off because it is so short! It’s shorter than my other gates by about half a foot. Once the kitten is older this gate will be useless since she could easily jump over it. But for now it serves my purposes (keeping the kitten separated from my adult cat until they get used to each other.)

I loved that it opens both ways, the extra large cat can fit through the animal gate and a 11mth old, can not. The floor stabilizers are nice, easier on the feet 👣. My only complaint is that I wish the wall screws were a little longer. Easy to open with one hand.

This dog (or baby) gate works quite well for my needs. I have one of the roll up baby gates at the front of my stairwell, however, the new puppy decided he could easily crawl underneath it. So this was the perfect solution.I like that no hardware or drilling are required in the odd stairwell area it is set up in. Simply follow the instructions and tighten the bolts (with plastic covers to protect your walls) until you can no longer tighten them.The bottom of the gate has a plastic cover which is angled at either side, so I can step on the bottom (bar) without hurting my feet.The gate opens and closes by pressing the top button and pulling up slightly. It can stay opened if you open it all the way and you’ll know when it’s set in place (as the door won’t close on you). Otherwise, the gate jut closes behind you.It has kept several puppies and a dog from getting upstairs without me worrying that they are going to break through it.It may be pricier than the typical plastic or roll up styles, but well worth it due to the usage and lack of hardware.
